Event Volunteer: Help Showcase Baltimore’s Hidden Hobby Groups!

Volunteer at the Local Charm Community Expo!

Join us for a fun and interactive event where you can help bring together Baltimore’s hidden hobby groups! The Local Charm Community Expo is a free hands-on activity fair where you can experience a variety of hobby groups all in one place. It’s an exciting chance to discover new interests, meet people, and try things firsthand.

We need volunteers to help everything run smoothly, and we'd love for you to be part of it! Whether you can volunteer all day or just for a shift, your help will make this event possible. Here’s what it’s all about:

Why?

Baltimore is full of hobby groups, and many people don’t even know they exist! This expo is a chance for people to come together, discover something new, and meet others with similar passions. It’s not just booths and fliers — you’ll get to see, try, and experience everything firsthand. From music and arts to games, sports, and theater, there’s something for everyone.

When:

Saturday, May 3rd

12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Where:

Arbutus Community Association

1349 Stevens Ave, Baltimore, MD 21227

Volunteer Shifts: We have two shifts available:

• First Shift: 11:00 AM - 2:15 PM (help with setup and assist during the event)
• Second Shift: 1:45 PM - 5:00 PM (overlap with first shift and assist with breakdown)

You’ll get a volunteer name tag, tasks for the day, and a chance to help out with everything from guiding attendees to supporting groups at booths.

Volunteer Tasks:

• Setup and breakdown
• Helping attendees and groups check in
• Being a guide or tour leader
• Supporting group leaders with their booths or on stage
• Helping with event marketing (photographer, videographer)

What to Wear:

Comfortable clothes and shoes (you might be moving around a lot).

What to Bring:

A water bottle to stay hydrated.

Breaks & Lunch:

Take breaks as needed, and food will be available for purchase.
