St. Francis Vet Care is a nonprofit veterinary clinic dedicated to providing accessible, compassionate veterinary care to pets in our community. We are seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented volunteer to support our finance team with bookkeeping and accounting-related tasks that help strengthen the clinic’s sustainability and financial accountability.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance, accounting, or bookkeeping experience who wants to use their skills to directly support a mission-driven organization.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting Volunteers may assist with:
- Bookkeeping assistance (categorizing transactions, organizing documentation, accuracy checks)
- Preparing and/or organizing the daily sales report and internal tracking summaries
- Accounts payable support (organizing vendor invoices, tracking due dates, confirming documentation)
- Accounts receivable support (tracking payments, reconciling outstanding balances, basic reporting)
- Donation management support, including organizing donation records, tracking donor gifts, and documentation support
- Organizing and reconciling receipts, invoices, and vendor statements
- Spreadsheet management and data entry for expense and revenue tracking
- Supporting month-end record organization and simple financial summaries
- Improving systems for financial filing (digital and physical) and internal processes
- Other finance/admin support tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, business operations, or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality (sensitive financial/donor information)
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and organized documentation
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Excel, or similar accounting software is a plus
- Dependable, organized, and able to follow procedures consistently
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with staff
