Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation - Client Services Volunteer (in-office)

Are you looking to help patients who are struggling to pay for their daily living expenses while undergoing cancer treatment?

The Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation is looking for volunteers to support our mission of providing financial assistance to cancer patients in need. Ideal candidates are individuals who have a passion for helping others and are comfortable speaking with patients as they apply for financial assistance. Volunteers should have strong inter-personal skills and the ability to provide at least 3 hours per week at the FCS Foundation office. Bilingual volunteers are a plus but not required.

Duties include:

• Answering incoming calls and returning voicemails to assist with questions, completing phone applications, reviewing missing documents, and checking application status.
• Contacting patients to share approval news and/or reminders about submitting bills.

Requirements:

• Complete a phone interview.
• Complete a criminal history check and drug/nicotine screening. * Please note that FCS is a nicotine and medical marijuana free workplace. Individuals who test positive for nicotine or medical marijuana will not be permitted to participate in the volunteer program. *
• An influenza vaccine is required annually (August 1 through March 31).
