About PromiseMeasure | Data & Impact

PromiseMeasure is MAP’s division responsible for monitoring, evaluation, learning, and impact. The division ensures that MAP’s programs are evidence-informed, accountable, and continuously improving through ethical, trauma-informed, and data-driven practices.

    About PromiseInsight

PromiseInsight is MAP’s centralized data and research platform designed to track student outcomes, measure program impact, support operational decision-making, and strengthen long-term research capabilities.

This platform will serve as core organizational infrastructure—connecting programs, data, and strategy into one cohesive system.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Lead, PromiseInsight to lead the strategy, development, and execution of MAP’s data and research platform.

This is a leadership role responsible for owning the product vision, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring the platform is usable, scalable, and aligned with MAP’s mission and program needs.

The Product Lead will serve as the central driver of this initiative—translating organizational needs into structured product solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Translate program and organizational needs into clear product requirements
    • Lead collaboration across engineering, data, UX/UI, and program teams
    • Manage product backlog, sprint priorities, and development timelines
    • Develop product requirements (PRDs, user stories, workflows)
    • Guide MVP development and iterative feature releases
    • Ensure product usability, scalability, and performance
    • Gather feedback from users (mentors, staff, program sites) and translate into improvements
    • Identify risks and propose solutions across development phases
    • Maintain clear documentation, workflows, and product standards
    • Maintain timely, professional responsiveness via email and chat in Google Workspace

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Experience in product management, product strategy, or product development
    • Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams
    • Experience working with engineers, designers, and data teams
    • Ability to translate complex needs into structured product plans
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Alignment with MAP’s mission and dignity-centered values

    Preferred

    • Experience building data platforms, dashboards, or analytics tools
    • Familiarity with nonprofit, education, or social impact work
    • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies

    Commitment

    • Volunteer leadership role
    • Approximately 5–10 hours per week
    • Minimum 6-month commitment preferred
    • Attend weekly team meeting (1 hour)
    • Responsive to communication every 1–2 days
    • Fully remote with optional NYC-based collaboration

    What You’ll Gain

    • Leadership experience building a mission-critical platform
    • Direct impact on how MAP measures and scales its work
    • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across technology, programs, and research
    • Professional references and letters of recommendation
    • A meaningful role advancing data-informed social impact
