At Compassus Hospice, small handmade items often bring real comfort during some of the hardest moments of life. A soft blanket, a familiar texture, or a well-fitting gown can help patients feel calmer, warmer, and more at ease.
We are seeking sewists, crocheters, and knitters who would like to support hospice patients through simple, meaningful creative work.
This is a fully remote volunteer opportunity. Projects are completed at home and mailed or dropped off at our office. There is no minimum time commitment. Volunteers may contribute one item or many, depending on what fits their life.
Items currently needed include:
• Patient gowns (all sizes)
• Pillowcases
• Fidget blankets or activity quilts for comfort and restlessness
• Crocheted or knit lap blankets
• Crocheted or knit hats
This role is a good fit for people who want to help in a quiet, tangible way without direct patient contact. Patterns, guidelines, and support are provided as needed.
Every item is received with care and used intentionally to support patients and families at the end of life.

Why It Matters
A soft blanket, a handmade gown, or a colorful pillowcase may seem small, but to our patients and their families, it is a profound reminder that they are cared for and remembered. Your craft can bring peace and comfort during one of life’s most tender times.
