Making memories....
Elara Caring Hospice, a leading care provider in the Midwest, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families through photography.
If you are compassionate and enjoy photography, you could become a Photography Volunteer. Volunteers might be asked to attend special events, such as Holding Hands and Veteran Pinning’s to photograph the patients in attendance. Families of a patient might request that a volunteer capture a portrait of their loved one. We also host an event called Holding Hands, where we photograph patients holding the hands of their loved ones. The photograph is then given to the family as a memento.
All volunteers must have their own equipment, camera is not provided. Most choose to use their personal cell phone. However, a camera cell can be provided for the pictures if needed. We ask that photographs be donated and HIPPA patient privacy rules apply to rights of prints.
Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically, we ask that you 2-4 hours per month or of 2 -4 hours per week or work to assist office staff.
