As an Oncology Aesthetics Facilitator, you will be facilitating workshops in our Unique Boutique program area.

Responsibilities:

• Provide monthly beauty/aesthetics classes for oncology patients at Wellness House partner sites throughout Chicagoland. Each program session should include teaching participants how to create realistic brows, makeup tips, skin and body care as well as stylish scarf techniques
• Creating a warm, comfortable experience for class participants
• Record attendance for each workshop and ensure participant forms are complete
• Collaborating with Engagement & Education Manager and/or Engagement Manager to share feedback

Staff responsibilities to Aesthetics Facilitator

• Provide training on Wellness House and policy/procedure
• Communicate about upcoming classes, registration and manage logistics with partner sites
• Be available for any questions or concerns

Qualifications and Skills

• Current Cosmetology or Esthetician license preferred
• Commitment to mission of Wellness House
• Strong relationship-building skills
• Experience in the beauty industry
• Experience with oncology population preferred
• Must not have attended programs at Wellness House as a participant within the last 6 months
• Must have reliable transportation in order to commute to Chicago locations

Commitment

• Average of 3 hours per month
• Ability to travel to Wellness House Partner sites in Chicago

Impact

Creating a positive, warm environment for participants will increase quality of services and possibly lead to retention of participants and/or recruitment of new participants

Benefit

Wellness House Volunteers will increase communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Volunteers will become a part of the volunteer community at Wellness House.
