Caring Calls - A Great Volunteer Opportunity!

Do you want to assist with patient care but you're not ready for Direct Care? Caring Calls may be a perfect volunteer opportunity!

Gentiva Hospice has a need for volunteers interested in helping with as needed or weekly calls to our patients and their families to provide a caring touchpoint. This call would be designed to enhance communication between our patients, their caregivers and our staff. During the call a volunteer might help to identify needs for supplies, medication and support. Or at times, a volunteer may just be a friendly voice checking on them and saying hello. Touchpoints can make a huge difference for patients, families and our medical staff! And it is all done by phone in our office during business hours.

Training is provided for this specialized service and calls are made following specific guidelines and scripts. Volunteers can help to alleviate the stress someone may feel just by reaching out.
