You don’t have to be extraordinary, outgoing, or available all the time to support hospice care.
Compassus Hospice offers a range of volunteer roles designed to fit different comfort levels, schedules, and strengths. Some volunteers spend time with patients. Others help quietly behind the scenes. Many roles are small, specific, and clearly defined.
Volunteer opportunities may include:
• Friendly visits or quiet companionship
• Reading aloud or conversation
• Phone check-ins or card writing
• Music, art, or simple creative activities
• Caregiver respite
• Administrative or support tasks
We work with each volunteer to find a role that feels appropriate and manageable. Volunteers are not expected to entertain, counsel, or fix anything. Presence, reliability, and respect are what matter most.
Training and ongoing support are provided. No medical experience is required. Even a few hours a month can make a real difference for patients, families, and the care team.
