Media Volunteer Wanted

Healing Circle Foundation is seeking a Media Volunteer for the Men’s Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, August 8, from 12–3 PM at Roy Wilkins Park Recreation Center in Jamaica, NY hosted by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.. The volunteer will help capture photos and short videos of our booth, community engagement, and He Yi Dao teaching class. We’re looking for someone reliable, creative, and comfortable documenting a public event with professionalism and care. Experience with photography, video, or social media content is a plus.

The ideal Media Volunteer is a reliable, upbeat, and socially aware person who can help capture the energy, engagement, and impact of Healing Circle Foundation’s booth and He Yi Dao teaching at the Men’s Health and Wellness Fair. They should be comfortable taking photos and short videos, moving respectfully through a busy community event, and documenting authentic moments of connection, learning, and participation.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality photos and short video clips throughout the event.
• Record participant engagement at the booth and during the He Yi Dao class.
• Highlight meaningful moments such as demonstrations, interactions, and community outreach.
• Gather usable content for social media, newsletters, and future promotions.
• Follow basic direction from Healing Circle Foundation staff or event leads.

Ideal Qualities

• Strong eye for storytelling and community-centered moments.
• Comfortable using a smartphone or camera for photo and video.
• Professional, respectful, and able to work in a public event setting.
• Punctual, dependable, and able to follow instructions.
• Familiar with social media content or willing to learn.
• Interest in wellness, community health, or nonprofit work is a plus.

Helpful Experience

• Prior experience photographing events, community programs, or volunteers.
• Basic video recording and framing skills.
• Ability to capture both candid and posed moments.
• Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, or similar platforms.

Pay range and compensation package

On going volunteer work at events comes with or volunteer benefits package and an opportunity for Volunteer Stipend for Grant Based Work.
