Volunteer with Us at Destination Africa 2026!
Destination Africa is a free, one-day pan-African cultural festival celebrating music, food, and community in the heart of Los Angeles. We're looking for 60+ enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this event to life on June 13 at LA Trade Tech College.
Volunteers will be assigned 3-4 hour shifts between 9am and 9pm and can sign up for roles across the following areas:
- Event Setup & Breakdown — help transform the space before doors open and restore it after the last guest leaves
- Guest Welcome & Registration — greet attendees, manage entry, and be the friendly first face of the festival
- Wayfinding & Crowd Flow — guide guests around the grounds and keep things moving smoothly
- Vendor Marketplace Support — assist vendors during load-in and be a resource on the floor throughout the day
- Children's Activities Crew — support programming and activities in our dedicated kids' area throughout the day
- Stage & Programming Crew — assist with performer coordination and keep live programming running on schedule
- Private World Cup Viewing Area — help manage access and keep the energy going in our exclusive viewing space during matches
- Logistics & Supply Support — work behind the scenes to keep the event stocked and running
Please note: volunteer roles and assignments are subject to change. This is a general overview of anticipated needs.
All volunteers receive a custom Destination Africa t-shirt, plus complimentary food and drinks throughout their shift.
No prior event experience needed, just a good attitude and love for community. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and skill sets.
