Volunteer Copywriter — Social Media & Marketing

Army Pink is a survivor-led nonprofit working to help survivors of domestic violence escape to safety and begin their path to freedom. Through our Pathway to Freedom program, we provide safe, reliable transportation through Freedom Rides and are developing a Wellness Portal with resources and support for survivors.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented Copywriter to join our Marketing/Social Media team and help create compelling, clear, and survivor-centered content.

The Copywriter will work closely with our Social Media Manager and other marketing volunteers to develop written content for social media, campaigns, fundraising, email communications, website content, videos, and other marketing materials.

We are looking for someone who can help establish a consistent voice for Army Pink and turn our programs, stories, resources, and mission into content that connects with our audience.

What You’ll Do

• Write social media captions and posts
• Create campaign and fundraising messaging
• Develop short-form marketing copy
• Write educational and informational content
• Create website and email copy as needed
• Develop calls to action
• Write copy to accompany videos, animations, and graphics
• Repurpose existing Army Pink interviews, videos, and other content
• Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Marketing team
• Work with designers, animators, and video editors
• Adapt messaging for different platforms and audiences
• Help develop campaign themes and messaging
• Edit and proofread content when needed
• Maintain a consistent Army Pink voice
• Make revisions based on team feedback

What We’re Looking For

• Professional or volunteer copywriting experience
• Strong writing, grammar, and editing skills
• Experience writing for social media, marketing, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations
• Ability to write clearly and concisely
• Ability to adapt writing for different audiences and platforms
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Reliability and ability to meet deadlines
• Comfort collaborating with a remote volunteer team
• Sensitivity and care when writing about domestic violence and survivor experiences

Experience with social media marketing, nonprofit communications, fundraising copy, storytelling, or content strategy is a plus.
