Hospice Volunteers Needed! One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time.

A hospice volunteer plays a vital role in our agency, and in the lives of our patients and their caregivers.

Our patients have been diagnosed with a life expectancy of six months or less. They are cared for in their homes, assisted living facilities or nursing homes. Below are some examples of what a direct patient care volunteer does:

• Sit with patients so their caregivers can run errands and take a break
• Visit nursing home patients who have expressed a desire to chat with someone
• Check on a patient who lives alone

If you have other ideas or talents, let’s talk about how we can put them to great use. I would be happy to talk with you directly about the many ways you can care for our patients and their caregivers. Additionally, if you know of any friends or families who would be interested in this type of volunteer work, please reach out to us.
