Curious about how a nonprofit fundraising gala comes together? Join the Reach The World 2025 Annual Benefit Committee!
Are you interested in learning the ins and outs of fundraising, planning a silent auction, and making a real impact at an exciting event? Reach the World is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our 2025 Benefit Committee—and we’d love to have you on board!
Reach the World is a New York City-based nonprofit that brings the life-changing power of travel and global engagement into classrooms. Our mission is to inspire students to become curious, confident, and compassionate global citizens.
Since 2001, we’ve hosted an annual benefit to support our work—and this year’s event promises to be our best yet! Taking place on May 12, 2025, from 6–9 p.m. at The Players in NYC, the evening will feature cocktails, a silent auction, a seated dinner, and the presentation of the Cronkite Award to none other than award-winning astrophysicist and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson!
But we can’t do it without an incredible team of volunteers.
As a Benefit Committee Member, you’ll play a vital role in helping us reach our fundraising goals—especially through the silent auction, which is the centerpiece of our efforts. This year, our committee aims to source 60 amazing auction prizes from generous donors.
By volunteering, you’ll:
✨ Gain hands-on experience in fundraising and event planning
🤝 Connect with a dynamic network of professionals across the NYC area
🌍 Support global learning opportunities for students who need them most
What to Expect:
- Weekly evening meetings (virtual) leading up to the event
- Active participation in auction outreach and donor engagement
- Attendance at the event on May 12 (for NYC-based volunteers)
Not in NYC? No problem! You can still contribute remotely by helping us secure auction items.
