Description: As a UI/UX Design Mentor volunteer at Thaddeus Resource Center, you’ll help elevate the digital experience for the communities we serve by providing guidance, insight, and thoughtful feedback on user-centered design. In this role, you will support and collaborate with our tech team to strengthen design approaches, enhance user interactions, and promote accessibility across our platforms. You’ll work alongside a passionate tech team that values creativity, integrity, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise 5 to 10 web design or UI/UX interns under the Tech department
• Provide guidance on user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) concepts for our digital platforms
• Review wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs and offer constructive feedback
• Advise on user research approaches and interpretation of user feedback
• Recommend improvements to usability, accessibility, and overall user experience
• Contribute to the evolution of our design system and style guide
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and best practices and share insights with the team
• Collaborate with the tech team to ensure seamless implementation of designs

Requirements:

• Have completed a Bachelor's degree in UI/UX, IT, Computer Science/Engineering or related studies
• 5+ years’ experience working in IT, business management or a related field
• Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Time Commitment and Working Conditions:

The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely

• 5 hrs./week including mandatory meetings
• 1-year minimum
• Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
  • Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9-10 AM PST
  • Weekly Tech Department Meetings: Thursdays 10 AM – 12 PM PST
