Volunteer Opportunity: Financial Literacy Group Facilitator
Do you have a strong financial background and a passion for teaching and giving back?
We are looking for dedicated Volunteer Financial Literacy Facilitators to lead small-group online
discussions for adults who aim to increase their confidence in managing money and personal finance.
This is a valuable opportunity to share your knowledge and communication skills to genuinely impact
people’s lives.
About the Role
Facilitate live sessions with engaging, discussion-based conversations online (Zoom or Google
Meet), or serve as an Instructional Guide and work one-on-one with students who have viewed
pre-recorded sessions but need a contact person to review their homework and answer questions.
The curriculum includes practical information on increasing net worth.
Students explore the difference between W-2 and 1099 income, taxation, and employee benefits.
They learn how to prepare a household cash flow statement (budget) and improve their credit and
financial decision-making.
The curriculum has already been developed, along with supporting handouts, assignments, and
answer sheets.
Create a supportive, respectful learning environment where participants feel comfortable asking
questions
Live sessions are conversational and interactive—this is not a lecture-based role.
Who We’re Looking For
A strong background in finance, accounting, banking, investing, taxation, real estate, and
retirement planning or related fields
Excellent communication and language skills (even in languages other than English)
A genuine love of teaching, mentoring, and helping others learn
Patient, approachable, and comfortable leading group discussions
Reliable and committed to volunteer service
Time: the training takes 20 hours and should be completed within a month to avoid losing
momentum. Once you are ready to teach, you can schedule class time at your convenience.
(weekend and evening teachers are strongly desired)
What You’ll Gain
The satisfaction of giving back and empowering others through education
A chance to share your expertise in a meaningful, people-focused way
Connection with a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization
Personal fulfillment that comes from making a lasting impact
Compensation

and skills are helping others build a stronger financial future.
If you believe financial knowledge is a powerful tool—and you enjoy helping adults learn—we would
love to hear from you.
Please send your resume or a brief synopsis of your skill set, and we will reach out to schedule an online
getting-to-know-you meeting. Expect to hear from us within three days of application.
