About NAEHD: The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) is a newly established organization with a mission to support and empower individuals, healthcare professionals, and decision makers through research, education, and advocacy efforts to eliminate health disparities in all communities. NAEHD aims to serve as a collective voice for all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone with a vested interest has a seat at the table and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission in an effort to end health disparities.

About the Board President’s role: The purpose of this leadership role is to guide the board of directors and work closely with the Founder/CEO to help shape and execute the organization's strategic plan and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Lead board meetings to ensure effective organizational governance and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Founder/CEO and board to develop the organization’s goals, strategies, and priorities.
  • Acts as the primary spokesperson for the organization, alongside the Founder/CEO representing it to stakeholders, partners, and the public to build relationships and promote the mission.
  • Ensure board members remain engaged and fulfill their fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Oversee the organization’s growth and ensure alignment with its mission alongside the Founder/CEO.
  • Provide mentorship to other board members as needed.

Time Commitment: The expectation is that the board president will commit to between 5-10 hours a month while the organization is still growing. This also includes time for required board meetings, leading strategic discussions, and representation of the organization at external events. The board president’s contributions in the early stages are critical to shaping the organization’s future growth and success.

Ideal Qualifications:

• • A healthcare professional (Doctor, Nurse, or Practitioner) is a plus
  • Experience in non-profit leadership or healthcare is a plus.
  • A commitment to the mission of eliminating health disparities.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with board members, staff, leadership, and stakeholders to advance the mission.
