Business Development Partner – Open Arms Rural Resource Center
The Business Development Partner supports the growth and sustainability of Open Arms Rural Resource Center by building mission-aligned funding, partnerships, and visibility for its social justice–focused programs in rural communities. This role combines relationship building, strategic outreach, and opportunity development to expand the organization’s impact and resource base.
Responsibilities
- Identify, research, and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donors, and strategic collaborations that advance the organization’s social justice mission.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to strengthen organizational visibility, trust, and long-term support.
- Lead outreach and communications efforts (emails, presentations, community events, and digital channels) to share impact stories and engage potential partners.
- Support volunteer recruitment and engagement strategies that align with program needs and equity-focused values.
- Track partnership, prospect, and grant pipelines; coordinate with leadership on proposals, reporting, and growth priorities.
Qualifications
- Experience in business development, fundraising, community partnerships, or related nonprofit/mission-driven work.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders around social justice and rural community needs.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines, with attention to detail in tracking outreach, proposals, and follow-ups.
- Comfort working in a startup nonprofit environment, taking initiative and adapting as programs and strategies evolve.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice, especially in under-resourced rural contexts.
Other Details
- Part-time, with flexible scheduling and potential to grow as funding and programs expand.
- Primarily remote, with occasional meetings or community events as needed.
- Collaborates closely with organizational leadership and program staff to ensure business development strategies reflect overall mission and community priorities.
