Help a person living with ALS in Parkdale, OR!

Living with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) makes daily tasks more challenging and to make life a little easier, we created the Helping Hands Volunteer Program. Right now, there is an opportunity to help a person living with ALS through this program in Parkdale, OR. Can you help?

VOLUNTEER TASKS:

We are looking for a volunteer(s) in/or around Parkdale, OR who is available on a regular & ongoing basis to support a Person living with ALS with cleaning, household chores, laundry, organizing, meal prep, pet care, yard work/ gardening, hobbies, and companionship.

TRAINING:

You do not need to have prior knowledge or experience to volunteer in this role. When you enlist as an ALS Helping Hands volunteer, we will coordinate an orientation session and additional training with you before you begin your volunteer service. The orientation will cover what ALS is, information about ALS Northwest, what to expect, best volunteering practices, volunteer policies, as well as answering any questions you might have. The orientation is virtual (zoom) or in person and runs about an hour and fifteen minutes.
