    Descrição

LEDI Advisory Board – Call for Experienced Professional Applicants (US Applicants Preferred)

    LEDI Advisory Board Role Overview

LEDI is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to reducing poverty and changing lives through integrated programs and initiatives in education, health care, entrepreneurship, construction, and international development, with a strong focus on Liberia and a small, but an expanding footprint in the United States. While the majority of our initiatives currently take place abroad, LEDI is entering a new phase of growth that includes expanding and strengthening programs within the United States.

To support this next stage, LEDI is establishing a new volunteer, working Board of Advisors composed of highly skilled, values-aligned professionals who are passionate about our mission and eager to contribute their expertise, networks, and resources. The LEDI Advisory Board will work closely with LEDI leadership to provide strategic guidance, professional expertise, and practical programmatic support that accelerates the organization’s ability to achieve measurable impact.

    Advisory Board Will

    • Act: Take ownership of specific projects, "roll up your sleeves" and deliver tangible results in your area of expertise.
    • Advise: Provide subject matter expertise that support the design, launch, and expansion of LEDI programs.
    • Advocate: Proactively open doors, serve as a vocal LEDI ambassador, and expand LEDI’s visibility and credibility in new sectors to position LEDI for long-term growth, strategic partnerships, and funding success.
    • Attend: Maintain consistent participation in meetings and working sessions, ensuring momentum is never lost.

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Legal & Governance: Attorneys or legal professionals with experience in nonprofit law, international law, compliance, contracts, risk management, or governance (high need)
    • Health & Medical Services: Physicians, nurses, public health professionals, healthcare administrators, or medical industry leaders with domestic and/or international experience (high need)
    • Construction & Infrastructure: Professionals in construction, engineering, project management, architecture, or real estate development, particularly with experience in underserved or international settings (high need)
    • Education & Workforce Development: Leaders in education, training, curriculum development, or workforce initiatives
    • Business Development & Entrepreneurship: Executives, entrepreneurs, investors, or consultants with experience in small business development, economic empowerment, and sustainable enterprise
    • Fundraising & Resource Development: Individuals with a strong track record in fundraising, donor relations, grant strategy, corporate partnerships, or capital campaigns (high need)
    • International Development & Missions: Professionals with hands-on experience working abroad, particularly in Africa or similar contexts, including cross-cultural program implementation
    • U.S.-Based Program Development: Leaders with experience designing and scaling community-based programs in the United States, especially those serving marginalized or low-income populations

This is a working board, not a ceremonial role. Members are requested to actively engage, contribute ideas, open doors, and support execution. Advisory Board members serve a two-year term and play an active role in strategy, program development, and organizational growth. Past support of LEDI is a plus.

    Estimated Time Commitment

    • Monthly Advisory Board meetings (virtual; occasional in-person as feasible)
    • Participation in 1–2 working committees aligned to expertise
    • Periodic consultation with LEDI leadership between meetings
    • Annual strategic planning session
    • Fall LEDI Gala participation

Estimated commitment: 4–8 hours per month, varying by initiative and phase of work.

Who Should Apply: Senior professionals in law, healthcare, construction, education, business, fundraising, international development, marketing, operations, and U.S. community program design who are mission-driven and action-oriented.
