Become a Companionship Volunteer with Gentiva Hospice – Neosho, MO

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of hospice patients by providing direct patient interaction through friendly one-on-one visits. As a volunteer, you can:

    • Offer Comfort & Connection – Engage in conversation, going for a walk, reading, crafts, watching TV, or simply being a supportive presence.
    • Support Caregivers – Give caregivers a much-needed respite/break to keep personal appointments or just rest and recharge.
    • Veteran-to-Veteran Connection – If you're a veteran, offer support to fellow service members in their end-of-life journey.

Each volunteer brings their own unique qualities, helping to bring about a higher quality of life in a patient’s final days, weeks, or months. Your time can make a profound difference for patients, caregivers, and families.

No medical training is required—just a compassionate, willing heart. Gentiva provides a full training and covers all onboarding costs, ensuring you feel educated, confident and supported. Volunteer visits are on average two times a month occurring wherever our patient lives whether in a home, assisted living facility or a nursing home.

We serve people throughout Newton, McDonald, Barry, Lawrence, Stone and Greene Counties in Southwest MO.
