Location: In hospitals, rural health assistance centers and in various support centers of our organization: Proyecto Casa, rural schools, special education schools, House of Babies, street children, children with HIV, orphanage, etc.

Objectives: Health is important in human development, but unfortunately in Peru, it is very difficult to access and even more difficult for poor people.

Therefore Expand Peru has created the medical volunteer program, through which the volunteer helps poor children and adults in different areas of specialized assistance. This program is designed for professionals and students from different fields of medical science.

• Pediatrics: The work with children and their health care is important. In Peru, this is the most neglected population. We need professionals working in prevention, care and control of children from zero to 12 years, in different areas.
• Gynecology: Work in rural health assistance centers, city hospitals and especially with the mothers of the children who benefit from different programs, diagnosing and treating diseases, sex education talks, disease prevention, birth control, etc.
• Nursing: Talks on disease prevention, giving injections, performing cures, visiting home, monitoring cured children and family, etc.
• Dentistry: It serves a very large population composed of children of different aid programs as well as their parents for cures, extraction, oral hygiene, education and prevention, etc.
• Nutrition: These professionals are very important for our organization; remember that we work with young children in extreme poverty and children with HIV. Many of them suffer from malnutrition and other diseases that result from poor and inadequate food. So the assistance of nutritionists to develop supply plans and strategies and their tracking and monitoring is necessary.
• Psychology: In our various assistance centers the help of these professionals is important to develop educational and social reintegration strategies of children and to solve behavior problems, child abuse, among other problems.

Important: Furthermore we always need medical professionals and students of other specialties such as general practitioners, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, obstetrics, etc.
