Do you like to crochet? Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of our hospice patients?
Then you might be a perfect fit for our new crocheting volunteer position(s)! As our volunteer coordinator, I am excited to start a new project for our patients who are on hospice. Many patients will celebrate their last birthday on hospice with us, and I would like to make their last birthday special with handmade gifts made from our volunteers. We have received yarn donations in the past so I have some yarn you can take home with you, to make special gifts for our hospice patients such as coasters, socks, slippers, hats, animals, headbands, or other items I have not listed! You work at your own pace and schedule your own hours. We work around your schedule!
All hospice volunteers will be required to participate in a brief in-person or online orientation, you will be required to complete an online hospice training with a short quiz at the end, you must also consent to a background check (fingerprinting if applicable), and TB test (provided free of charge by Canyon).
If you are interested in donating past crocheted projects, please send me a direct message so we can set you up as a donor!
Reach out to schedule an in-person or online orientation. Complete onboarding material, get a TB test (Canyon provides a free / no cost test) , background check, fingerprints (if applicable), and hospice volunteer training.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older! There are no special requirements for donors.
