The National African Student Association (NAfSA) is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst & Compliance Associate to work directly alongside our incoming Finance Director. This role gives you hands-on ownership of real-world financial architecture—from building dynamic financial models for corporate grants to managing multi-state compliance pipelines.
Whether you are a busy corporate professional looking to donate a few strategic hours a week, or a recent graduate looking for a structured 20-hour track to fulfill academic/OPT requirements, this role offers elite resume-building experience.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Reconcile & Audit Ledgers: Manage and clean historical non-profit transactions, migrating them into a standardized, audit-proof digital ledger.
- Financial Modeling: Help build Excel/Google Sheets budget structures detailing program cost-per-student and funding projections for corporate grant applications.
- State Compliance Audit: Research and compile state-by-state solicitation registration deadlines to ensure NAfSA is fully compliant across all operating regions.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):
- Strong interest or degree alignment in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, attention to mathematical precision, and a high level of personal discretion.
- Ability to commit 20 hours per week remotely on a consistent schedule.
