Making a difference one life at a time! Elara Caring Hospice is a leading care provider in Missouri and throughout the Midwest, our staff and volunteers work together to meet each patient where they are. We are currently looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to join our team and donate time to assist local hospice patients and families.

As a companionship volunteer you will have direct contact with patients and their families. Volunteers are needed both in nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and patient homes. Volunteers will build relationships with patients by engaging them in conversation, listening to music, doing crafts, reading, or playing a game together. Sometimes a hand to hold is just enough. Caregivers occasionally need a break, and a volunteer can provide respite to allow the family member to attend to other needs. Hospice care is provided in patient homes, with family members, and in nursing facilities.

If not interested in working one on one with a patient or family, we also have office volunteer hours available. We have plenty of administrative duties that need attention in our Dexter office location. From filing, putting away supplies, making binders, folders and phone calls we can always use an extra hand.
