MLK Day of Service - Tree Planting/Nature Area Clean up - Robla Community Park

Join Assemblywoman Maggy Krell in partnership with the City of Sacramento's Department of Youth Parks and Community Enrichment (YPCE) for a fun and rewarding morning of park beautification.

Volunteers will plant, stake and spread mulch to approximately 20 new trees. The planting holes will be pre-dug and backfilled, making them easy to clear and ready for planting. We will also be spreading mulch along existing planting beds and picking up trash in the nature area.

No tree-planting experience is necessary! We'll provide an informative demonstration on proper planting techniques and safety. practices.

Trees and stakes are provided through a generous partnership between SMUD and The Sacramento Tree Foundation.

All tools will be provided by YPCE.

What to bring:

• Work gloves
• Closed toe shoes
• Weather appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty
• refillable water bottles
• Community spirit

Youth groups and students can receive credit for volunteer hours.
