Salix Compass is a Washington-based nonprofit helping patients afford life-saving medications by managing financial assistance applications and coordinating with clinics.
We're seeking a volunteer with experience in HIPAA compliance, healthcare data management, or information security to help build and document the foundational privacy practices for our patient advocacy programs.
Responsibilities include:
• Advising on HIPAA-compliant communication and document storage systems
• Reviewing intake forms, email, and digital workflows for compliance risks
• Helping draft internal policies and procedures (data handling, access, confidentiality)
• Optional: assist with long-term compliance oversight as we grow
This is a flexible, remote volunteer opportunity that directly supports patients' access to essential care while ensuring we operate with the highest ethical and legal standards.
