Help Support Disaster Response Behind the Scenes

The American Red Cross is seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Mission Card Volunteer to support local disaster response operations in the Everett area. This role plays an important part in ensuring that Red Cross responders have access to mission-related financial resources when serving individuals and families impacted by disasters.

Volunteers in this position help manage and issue Mission Cards (Client Assistance Cards), maintain accurate records, and provide exceptional customer service to staff, volunteers, and community members. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a background in finance, accounting, banking, bookkeeping, or a related field who enjoys helping others and making a meaningful impact in their community.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the management and tracking of Red Cross Mission Cards.
• Support financial recordkeeping and documentation processes.
• Help issue Client Assistance Cards to disaster responders as needed.
• Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with financial procedures.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to volunteers, staff, and disaster clients.
• Communicate effectively with local disaster response teams and chapter leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, accounting, banking, bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Comfortable using computers and basic office software.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
• Commitment to the Red Cross mission and principles of client confidentiality.

Time Commitment

• Approximately 1–2 times per month at the Everett office.
• Flexible scheduling based on operational needs.
• Additional support opportunities may be available during large disaster responses.
