    About Tahoma Northwest

    Tahoma Northwest is a nonprofit behavioral health agency based in Washington State, dedicated to improving the well‑being of individuals and communities through compassionate, peer‑driven support services. The organization specializes in peer support, emphasizing lived experience as a powerful tool for recovery, resilience, and connection.

    Tahoma Northwest continues to honor its roots by maintaining programs that focus on supporting fathers and families, while expanding TNW’s reach to serve a broader population in need of behavioral health services.

    Tahoma Northwest is actively working to build and strengthen partnerships with Managed Care Organizations to expand access to care, enhance service delivery, and ensure long‑term sustainability. The organization also contracts with the Washington State Health Care Authority to support and train the peer workforce across the state, helping to strengthen and grow a skilled, recovery‑oriented behavioral health workforce.

    The organization is committed to continuous quality improvement, ensuring that services are culturally responsive, person‑centered, and aligned with best practices in community behavioral health. As a mission‑driven nonprofit, Tahoma Northwest plays a vital role in supporting underserved populations and advancing innovative approaches to care.

    Board Member Opportunity

    Tahoma Northwest is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join its Board of Directors. Board members play a key role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring strong governance, and supporting its mission to serve individuals and families across Washington State.

    Responsibilities include:

      • Providing strategic oversight and organizational leadership
      • Supporting financial stewardship and sustainability efforts
      • Serving as ambassadors for Tahoma Northwest in the community
      • Contributing expertise to support organizational growth and partnerships
      • Participating in regular board meetings and committee work

    Ideal candidates bring:

      • A commitment to behavioral health, recovery, and peer support values
      • Experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, healthcare, finance, law, or community engagement (preferred but not required)
      • Interest in supporting partnerships with Managed Care Organizations and system-level collaboration
      • A passion for supporting families, fathers, and underserved communities
      • Familiarity with workforce development, Medicaid systems, or Washington State behavioral health (a plus)
      • Must live in Washington state.
