Job Descriptions for 2025 Open Board Positions
Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control (FoDACC) is seeking compassionate, committed individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors. The following roles are currently open. All board members work collaboratively to support our mission of helping Detroit's animals and community, and most roles do not necessarily require a background in animal welfare. However, the final two roles listed would particularly benefit from animal rescue experience and familiarity with FoDACC.
We recognize that not every candidate will meet every qualification listed in the job description. Director of Adoption Events and Dog Promotion
The Director of Adoption Events and Dog Promotion is responsible for increasing adoptions of DACC dogs by organizing offsite adoption events in the Detroit area and coordinating other exposure opportunities, including scheduled Dogventures and community engagement and partnership events. This director will be responsible for creating as well as maintaining partnerships with stores and brands around the Metro Detroit area including but not limited to PetSmart/PetSmart Charities/Adoptions Made Easy system, Petco/Petco Love, and Pet Supplies Plus. This director will ensure our compliance with any and all adoption reporting requirements.
