Current Volunteer Opportunities

• Cashier Extraordinaire Volunteer

Help create a positive shopping experience by assisting customers at checkout, answering questions, and supporting daily store operations.

• Generalist Volunteer

Support a variety of ReStore activities, including assisting customers on the sales floor, organizing merchandise, and helping process donations.

Basic Requirements

• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of Habitat for Humanity.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with ReStore staff, fellow volunteers, Habitat homeowners, donors, and customers.
• Quick learner who is comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.
• Self-motivated with a positive, cooperative attitude.
• Strong customer service skills and a willingness to assist customers with questions and requests.
• Ability to provide accurate information and represent the ReStore professionally.
• Ability to remain standing for extended periods and safely move or handle merchandise and boxes weighing up to 10 pounds throughout the store.
• Following a 3 to 4-week introductory ("audition") period, volunteers are asked to make a long-term commitment to their role.

About the Charlotte ReStore

The Charlotte ReStore is the fundraising division of Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region. The ReStore supports Habitat's mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership opportunities.

Every purchase and donation helps fund the construction of new homes and provides critical home repairs for older, owner-occupied homes throughout our community. By volunteering at the ReStore, you play a direct role in helping local families achieve safe and affordable housing.
