Deliver dietary-specific groceries and a smile directly to the doors of people living in affordable housing buildings in NW and Downtown Portland! Lift UP's delivered food box program helps to serve our neighbors who are elderly or living with a disability and may otherwise have difficulty accessing other food resources. This opportunity plays the vital role of making nutritious food accessible and encouraging friendly, invaluable social interaction between volunteers and clients.
All delivery volunteers are required to pass a background check. Being able to lift up to 30lbs continuously is also required. This is a great role to sign up for with a friend to do 1x/month!
A driver or helper (or pair) is needed for deliveries once a month for 1-2 hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 11am-2pm. The volunteer could drive their own vehicle or drive the Lift UP vans. Helpers don't need to drive, just meet at our warehouse in NW Portland.
