    Role Overview

    We are seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Educational Products & Manufacturing to lead the development, production, and distribution of educational tools, learning materials, and physical products that support our mission.

    This volunteer leadership role focuses on overseeing product design, curriculum-aligned materials, sourcing, manufacturing partnerships, and quality control to ensure that all educational products are accessible, affordable, and aligned with our artistic and educational standards. You will collaborate closely with curriculum developers, designers, operations teams, and leadership to bring impactful educational products from concept to production.

    Commitment: 15–20 hours per week

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the strategy and execution of educational product development initiatives.
    • Oversee design and development of curriculum-based materials, learning kits, merchandise, and educational tools.
    • Research and establish relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers.
    • Develop scalable production workflows and quality assurance processes.
    • Ensure products meet affordability, accessibility, and safety standards.
    • Collaborate with curriculum and creative teams to align products with educational goals and artistic vision.
    • Manage production timelines, cost planning, and logistics coordination.
    • Maintain documentation for product specifications, vendor agreements, and manufacturing processes.
    • Optimize manufacturing strategies to balance cost efficiency with quality and impact.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience in product development, manufacturing, supply chain management, or educational product design.
    • Knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, and production workflows.
    • Experience working with physical product manufacturing or educational materials is preferred.
    • Strong strategic planning and operational management skills.
    • Ability to oversee multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
    • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
    • Comfortable working within a remote, volunteer-based leadership team.
    • Passion for arts, music education, accessibility, and mission-driven innovation.
