Neighborhood Information: The Kennedy-King neighborhood dates back to the 1800s and is one of the city’s most historically and culturally significant neighborhoods, with deep roots in Indianapolis’ African American history and community leadership. This neighborhood was officially named on April 4, 1968, the evening Robert F. Kennedy gave an impromptu speech in the neighborhood after Martin Luther King, Jr. had been assassinated.

Fun Fact: The Landmark for Peace Memorial is one of the only monuments in the country honoring both Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Lurther King, Jr. (1702 Broadway St.)

    • While we love group attendance at volunteer projects, all participants in a group must be registered individually.
