A Friendly Volunteer visit for a home patient-VITAS Healthcare- St. Louis, MO 63138

VITAS Healthcare is looking for a Patient Care Volunteer to visit a patient on hospice residing in his or her own home in St. Louis, MO 63138. This volunteer opportunity is specifically for visiting patients in their own homes and not long- term care facilities. Volunteers are critically important for visiting patients at the end of life that do not have family or friends that regularly visit. Patient Care Volunteers offer companionship, play music and games, read to patients, and help in other meaningful ways.

Volunteers visit VITAS patients to provide specific, non- medical care through socialization and friendly visits. VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering on communication skills, family dynamics and how to make a positive difference for patients and their caregivers. The days and times for volunteering are flexible according to your availability. Any time you can contribute is appreciated.
