    Descrição

    Reports to: Chief National Engagement Officer

    Hours: 3–6 hrs/week

    Commitment: 6–12 months minimum

    Role Summary

    This role helps strengthen Sisterhood Sanctuary’s presence within the community by building relationships, sharing resources, and supporting survivor-centered outreach events. Coordinators ensure survivors receive accurate, up-to-date local resources—housing, food, counseling, legal support, shelters—and help connect the nonprofit with trusted community partners across the Southland and surrounding counties.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain and update a comprehensive database of domestic violence and community resources (housing, legal, food, mental health, transportation, emergency support, etc.)
    • Develop relationships with local shelters, police departments, hospitals, schools, clinics, and community service agencies
    • Attend community events, resource fairs, and outreach programs as a representative of the organization
    • Support donation drives, food pantry setups, survivor care-pack preparation, and supply distribution
    • Coordinate with partners to schedule training sessions, workshops, and joint outreach initiatives
    • Gather community feedback on gaps in survivor services and report insights to leadership
    • Assist with MOU development, referral systems, and partnership agreements
    • Ensure trauma-informed, culturally sensitive communication and support

    Qualifications

    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    • Experience in community outreach, advocacy, social services, or nonprofit work
    • Understanding of domestic violence dynamics (training provided if needed)
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality, boundaries, and survivor safety
    • Independent, reliable, and comfortable representing the organization publicly
    • Professional conduct when dealing with agencies or public partners
