Faunalytics is currently accepting applications for volunteer members of our Board of Directors. If you care deeply about improving the lives of animals by empowering their advocates with data and insights to help drive humane change, we could be the board for you!

About Faunalytics

Faunalytics’ mission is to empower animal advocates with research, insights, and strategies that maximize their effectiveness to end animal suffering. We conduct essential research, maintain an online research library, and directly support advocates and organizations in their work to save lives. The range of data we offer helps our movement understand how people think about and respond to advocacy, providing advocates with the best strategies to inspire change for animals.

Are You a Fit for Our Board?

Our Board of Directors provides governance, strategic guidance, and fiduciary oversight while serving as ambassadors for our work. Board members are volunteers who are committed to strengthening Faunalytics’ mission and long-term sustainability.

We welcome applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences. At this time, expertise in the following areas is particularly aligned with our current needs:

• Fundraising
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Active engagement in the animal advocacy movement

We encourage applications from individuals whose lived experiences have been historically marginalized in nonprofit decision-making spaces. Written and spoken English proficiency is required.

Our board includes members across multiple time zones; however, applicants should note that our Board meetings generally take place at 4:00pm Eastern.

Board Member Commitments

Board service involves:

• Alignment with Faunalytics’ mission and a strong commitment to animal protection
• A two-year term (renewable)
• Approximately five to 10 hours per month:
• Attendance at a minimum of six virtual Board meetings annually (typically twice per quarter, two hours each)
• Sharing your expertise and leveraging your networks and resources when feasible
• Make a personal donation to Faunalytics at least once per year, according to your means
• Influence $500 or more in new donations
• Providing fiduciary oversight and governance
• Serving on a Board committee and at an appropriate point in the future, serving in an officer role\

The Application & Selection Process

The application provides an opportunity to share your experience, interests, and reasons for wanting to join the Faunalytics Board. You are also welcome to submit any questions you may have.

Our process includes:

1. Initial review by the Board Recruitment Committee and the People & Operations Director
2. A 30-minute virtual meet-and-greet with 1-3 board members
3. A final virtual call with the Executive Director and a board representative(s)
