Veteran to Veteran Volunteer

Silverado is focused toward enriching the quality of life for clients, residents, patients, families and associates. Our Veteran-to- Veteran program focuses on the pairing of recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with Veterans patients in hopes to create an environment where life review and healing may occur. Veteran-to- Veteran volunteers can help our Veteran patients by building camaraderie through understanding of military culture, education and assistance in receiving Veteran benefits, and in taking part of pinning ceremonies that celebrate and recognize the Veterans service.
