Descrição
Volunteer Lectors support and assist Saint Therese Pastoral Care staff by reading at Mass.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Mass and prayer services in ways as a lector.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill or Abilities Required
- Have experience as a lector
- Respect for everyone’s faith or spiritual beliefs
- Patience to listen non-judgmentally to residents and their families
- Keen awareness and avoidance of any form of proselytization (faith conversion)
- Ability to identify the need for referrals to Pastoral Care staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
- Understanding of state laws protecting vulnerable adults and reporting mandates
- Able to follow infection prevention and control procedures to minimize risk of disease transmission and maintain health and safety of residents, staff and volunteers
