Desert Wildlife Center - Multiple Opportunities to Help!

The Desert Wildlife Center (located in Indio, Ca) welcomes volunteers with varied expertise and experience. We are looking for volunteers who are committed, caring, and who would like to truly make a difference in the lives of the wild animals we share our environment with.

The Desert Wildlife Center needs volunteers in the areas listed below:

• Animal Care- Designing habitats, Preparing diets, Feeding birds, sanitizing enclosures, Preparing and Providing enrichment.
• Wildlife Advisor (aka hotline operator)- Advising the public on wildlife conflicts, injured, ill, or orphaned animals, and setting up transport to the Wildlife Center.
• Intake - Receiving animals into the facility, answering phones, data entry, feeding baby birds, and light housekeeping.
• Transport- Picking up animals from rescuers and transporting them to the center or other facilities.
• Outreach & Events -Represent the center at off-site events, take donations, speak to the public about wildlife and what we do, pick up and drop off event supplies.
