Foster Team Support

The Hearts & Bones foster team is looking for Foster Support Volunteers to support the team with admin tasks, email inbox coverage, and communication to fosters.

Overview: This volunteer will assist with day-to-day foster communication - foster placements, foster changes, foster returns. Experience with rescue, dog behavior and handling is preferred. Looking for a proactive team member that is willing to work on a team to find temporary homes for rescued dogs.

Impact: Foster Support Volunteers are the backbone of our foster program, ensuring every foster family and dog has the support they need to thrive.

Compensation: Volunteer

Location: Remote. Local candidates in the New York City area are preferred but open to volunteers anywhere.

Time Requirement: 5-10 hours per week, more on transport weekends. Specific hours are generally flexible. Timely replies via e-mail and phone are critical to success in this role.

Reports To: Foster Program Manager, Foster Coordinator

Works With: This position corresponds with the adoption team, medical team, and volunteer team on a regular basis.

Skills/Required Qualifications: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be responsive and communicative. Must have basic administrative and organizational skills. This role requires a positive and professional demeanor internally and externally.
