2025 -2026 Volunteer Tutors needed for STAIR site at Quarterfield Elementary, Severn

STAIR-Annapolis, Start The Adventure In Reading, is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public School first and second grade students reading below grade level. Tutors work one-on-one with a student for one hour and fifteen-minute-long session, and we offer our volunteers the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week, or as a substitute on an as-needed basis. Stair-Annapolis has 15 sites throughout Anne Arundel County, and we place tutors at sites that are convenient to their home.

We will open a new site at Quarterfield Elementary School, 7967 Quarterfield Road, Severn, in late January of 2026. We will begin scheduling a virtual 45-minute info sessions that will give you an overview of the STAIR program. The next session will be Monday, January 5th at 10:00.

After the Info session, there will also be a required one-and a half hour curriculum training that is scheduled for Thursday, January 8th at 10:00 at the Severn Center, 1160 Reece Road, Severn, MD
