Event Operations Coordinator

AfroSabor is seeking a volunteer Event Operations Coordinator to help support the planning and execution of community events, dance socials, workshops, and cultural gatherings.

AfroSabor is a Black-centered Afro-Latin cultural organization based in New York City focused on building spaces rooted in joy, belonging, and cultural connection.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, logistics, and helping live events run smoothly behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event logistics and coordination
• Support setup, check-in, and volunteer coordination
• Help manage timelines and event preparation
• Communicate with vendors and team members as needed
• Assist with operational support during events

• Organized and dependable
• Calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills
• Interest in live events, arts, or community programming
• Ability to commit approximately 2–5 hours per week
