Write Letters That Bring Comfort to Hospice Patients

At Three Oaks Hospice, even a simple letter can brighten someone’s day. We are seeking compassionate volunteers to participate in our Hospice Pen Pal Program by writing thoughtful letters and cards to patients receiving hospice care throughout the North Houston and The Woodlands area.

Many hospice patients experience loneliness or limited social interaction. Through handwritten notes, cards, and letters of encouragement, volunteers can provide comfort, connection, and reminders that someone is thinking of them.

This is a meaningful remote volunteer opportunity that can be completed from home and on your own schedule.

As a Hospice Pen Pal Volunteer, you may:

• Write letters of encouragement and support to patients
• Share stories, hobbies, or uplifting messages
• Create seasonal or holiday cards
• Help patients feel connected and remembered
• Spread kindness through simple acts of compassion

No medical experience is required. Volunteers do not provide medical care or counseling. Training and guidance will be provided by Three Oaks Hospice.

We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy writing, creating meaningful connections, and making a difference in the lives of others.

Volunteer Requirements:

• Complete volunteer orientation and training
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
• Commit to writing thoughtful, respectful correspondence
• Follow hospice guidelines regarding communication

A letter may seem small, but to someone facing serious illness, it can provide comfort, joy, and a sense of connection.
