The Landscape and Gardening volunteer position is an important, and fun way to give back to your community. Landscaping and gardening is an important part of our organization, the garden and landscape, is after all, what people see first. An amazing garden can be the deciding factor in visitors' decision in coming to the museum or not. On top of that, landscaping is a constant cost to the organization that volunteers can help lower by simply getting their hands a little dirty. As a landscaping and gardening volunteer you will be tasked with maintaining the grounds at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House, and the Museum of the Oregon Territory. The Stevens-Crawford Heritage House, is Clackamas County’s only Edwardian house museum, and offers a sweeping lawn wrapping around the front, back and sides of the home. Several large garden beds are filled with roses, and flowers of various kinds. The Museum of the Oregon Territory has several beautiful bushes, rhododendrons, and various other ground covers. As a landscape and gardening volunteer you will be tasked with helping to maintain either site. Personal equipment will be required.
Possible Tasks:
Mowing lawn at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House.
Weed removal at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House.
Pruning and trimming at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House and Museum of the Oregon Territory.
