1st and 2nd grade Reading Tutors for Quarterfield and Hebron-Harmon Elementary in Severn

STAIR-Annapolis, Start The Adventure In Reading, is a twice-weekly, AFTER SCHOOL literacy tutoring program for Anne Arundel County Public School first and second grade students reading below grade level. Tutors work one-on-one with a student for one hour and fifteen-minute-long session, and we offer our volunteers the flexibility to choose their level of commitment: one day per week, two days per week, or as a substitute on an as-needed basis. Stair-Annapolis has 15 sites throughout Anne Arundel County, and we place tutors at sites that are convenient to their home. STAIR at Quarterfield Elementary School, 7967 Quarterfield Road, Severn, is our 16th site that opened in late January of 2026. This site meets on Monday and Thursdays from 2:30-3:45. STAIR is held from early October to early May. STAIR will be adding a NEW site in October at Hebron-Harmon Elementary, 7660 Ridge Chapel Rd., Hanover. Tutors and substitutes are needed at both of our newest sites!

Please contact volunteer_coordinator@stairannapolis.org for more information and to sign up for the next info session. STAIR will have regular monthly information sessions via Google Meet. The info sessions are 45 minutes and are an overview of the STAIR program. In August, STAIR will begin to schedule the required 2-hour curriculum trainings. The curriculum trainings will be offered at various dates and locations for the convenience of our volunteers.
