Volunteer Community Engagement Coordinator

W.I.S.E. Partnership is seeking a dynamic and organized volunteer Community Engagement Team Lead to help guide outreach, community relationships, and event coordination as we continue building the WISE Central Hub.

This leadership volunteer will serve as a key ambassador for the organization, helping to strengthen connections with residents, volunteers, neighborhood partners, and local institutions. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, comfortable representing the organization publicly, and able to organize and motivate a team.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

• Represent W.I.S.E. Partnership as a positive and welcoming ambassador in the community
• Build relationships with neighborhood residents, organizations, and partners
• Help strengthen the organization’s volunteer network

Event Planning & Activation

• Assist with planning and coordinating community events, volunteer days, and neighborhood activations
• Support logistics, volunteer coordination, and outreach for events
• Help ensure events are organized, welcoming, and well-attended

Volunteer Team Leadership

• Recruit and organize volunteers to support programs and events
• Help build a strong and dependable community engagement team
• Support clear communication with volunteers

Communication & Writing

• Assist with writing outreach emails, volunteer communications, and community invitations
• Help ensure timely and respectful communication with partners and volunteers

Public Presentation

• Represent W.I.S.E. Partnership at community meetings, events, and partner gatherings when appropriate
• Help share information about our programs, mission, and opportunities for involvement

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong writing and communication skills
• Is comfortable speaking with community members and representing an organization publicly
• Is organized, reliable, and proactive
• Has experience or interest in community engagement, nonprofit work, or event planning
• Demonstrates leadership and the ability to build a team
• Is self-directed and able to follow through on responsibilities

Experience in community organizing, communications, nonprofit leadership, or public engagement is a plus.
