Volunteer Digital Content Creator using Canva

Myositis Support and Understanding (MSU) is a leading non-profit dedicated to empowering and advocating for individuals affected by myositis, a group of rare autoimmune diseases. We provide vital resources, foster community, and raise awareness to improve the lives of those living with these challenging conditions.

We're looking for a passionate and creative volunteer Digital Content Creator using Canva for Teams to join our volunteer Marketing Team on a part-time basis. At MSU you are not only a volunteer, but you are also part of a family who cares about one another. In this role, you'll be instrumental in helping us:

• • Communicate effectively: Translate complex medical information and patient stories into engaging, easy-to-understand visual and audio content.
  • Expand our reach: Create compelling graphics and multimedia for our website, social media channels, email campaigns, special projects, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Elevate our brand: Ensure all visual communications are consistent with MSU's brand guidelines, maintaining a professional and empathetic tone.

What you'll do:

• • Design and produce a variety of digital assets including social media graphics, infographics, presentation slides, website banners, and email headers.
  • Work to create a full branding kit using our main logo to then be used to create Canva templates to save time.
  • Work primarily in Canva for Teams to create visually appealing and on-brand content and Microsoft Teams to manage your projects, hold meetings, keep and maintain document storage, scheduling, and more.
  • Collaborate with a friendly and inclusive team to brainstorm content ideas and execute design projects from concept to completion.
  • Assist in maintaining and organizing our digital asset library.
  • Stay up to date with current design trends and best practices in digital content creation.

What you'll bring:

• • Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Canva is a must.
  • Familiarity with other design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus but not recommended right n w due to cost and skills needed to work as a group).
  • Excellent visual communication skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to deadlines.
  • A passion for our mission and a desire to contribute to a cause that impacts everyone in the myositis community. Experience with non-profits or healthcare advocacy is a bonus. We are an organization based on values of love, compassion, empathy, and authenticity.
