San Francisco’s Fourth Annual Juneteenth Parade on Market St
San Francisco is a world-class city and a premier global destination for Juneteenth festivities, including the main event: a flagship parade in the heart of the city that engages, inspires, and highlights unifying Black excellence.
Juneteenth Parade SF Volunteers will be joining a team of hundreds of dedicated non-profit staff members, city workers and volunteers who are committed to making sure the African American communities in SF are celebrated during the Juneteenth Freedom Day Weekend!

- All volunteers are expected to stay the full duration of their shift (4 hours including breaks) - please be sure to only select a shift that you can fully commit to on the day of the event
- It is important to be ON TIME as their will be a (10-15 minutes) Training Orientation promptly at the start of each shift.
- All volunteer roles require long periods of standing and/or walking.
- If you have any physical or dietary restrictions, please be sure to notify us in advance.
A Description of each Volunteer Role is listed below:
Juneteenth volunteer roles & shift times are as follows:
Shift #1 (7:00am - 11:00am)
Shift #2 (10:00am - 2:00pm)
Shift #3 (1:00pm - 5:00pm)
Shift #4 (2:00pm- 6:00pm)
- Set-up/Breakdown Volunteers (7am - 11am), (10am - 2pm), (1pm - 5pm), (2:00pm-6:00pm): Set Up and Breakdown Street Closure Equipment including Barricades, Street Closure Signs, Cones and Delineators. May include festival set-up and breakdown of equipment such as tents, tables, chairs and tents.
- Staging volunteers (7am - 11am), (10am - 2pm), (1pm - 5pm): Coordinate the line up for the contingents and parade participants
- Crossing Guard volunteers (7am - 11am), (10am - 2pm), (1pm - 5pm), (2:00pm - 6:00pm): Monitor intersections and maintain crowd safety
- Route Monitor volunteers (7am - 11am), (10am - 2pm), (1pm - 5pm): The team that guides the contingents down the route helping to maintain safety throughout the duration of the event.
- Floater volunteers (10am - 2pm), (1pm - 5pm), (2pm - 6pm): This role will follow the instruction of the production manager as a "floating volunteer", supporting other volunteer roles as needed. This includes waste management; sorting and collection of trash and recycling - may require lifting up to 15lbs.
Note: We have the greatest need for volunteers who are physically able to lift up to 25lbs. and stand or sit for long periods of time.

The deadline to sign up to Volunteer is 11:59PM on June 10th, 2026. THIS GOOGLE FORM IS NOT BEING MONITORED FOR UPDATES BETWEEN JUNE 13th-20th, 2026. If you would like to volunteer at the Juneteenth Parade but missed the deadline to register, please feel free to email volunteers@livablecity.org or show up on event day and let us know that you came to support upon your arrival!
- There is extremely limited parking available, and all volunteers are encouraged to take public transit to the event.
