High Horses Center for Equine Assisted Services has been serving communities across Vermont and New Hampshire for more than 30 years. Since 1993, we have provided high-quality equine-assisted services that support children, teens, and adults—and we are proud to be a PATH International Premier Accredited Center, maintaining a perfect 100% accreditation score in 2025.
Our programs are impactful, well-established, and growing—and they are only possible because of our volunteers. Whether you’re brand new to horses or have years of experience, there is a place for you here.
No Experience Necessary
You do not need prior horse or equine experience to volunteer with us. We provide thorough training, hands-on guidance, and ongoing support so you feel confident, prepared, and successful in your role.
Why Volunteer at High Horses?
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, abilities, and skill levels. What matters most is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
All are welcome—everyone has a purpose and a place at High Horses.
Volunteer Roles May Include:
Training & Support
All volunteers receive training before getting started, along with ongoing education throughout the year. You’ll never be asked to do something you haven’t been prepared for—and you’ll always be supported by experienced staff and fellow volunteers.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with High Horses! To get started, please complete:
Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 14 or older. Volunteers under 18 need a parent or guardian consent form.
Background Checks: Volunteers 18+ are required to complete a background check to ensure the safety of our riders.
Once your forms (and background check, if needed) are submitted, we’ll contact you with next steps, including training and scheduling. It’s that simple!
